It has been a while since I updated this site.  We are learning to wrap soft tissue injuries and splint fractures.  Here are some pictures.

Midterm Exam

Time has really gone by fast in our class.  We just finished anatomy and physiology and the students are getting ready for their mid term exam.  The next step in our class is learning how to do vital signs and a sample history.  After that, we will be done with module 1 and move on to module 2, the airway.  I must say that I am very proud of all of the students in class.  They are attentive, willing to learn and very competent in performing skills.   They make this a fun class to teach.

Class Field Trip to the Fire Dept. and Police Dept

Police and Fire Field Trip

On Wednesday our class went to the Sitka Police and Fire Department to see how the 911 dispatch center works for the City of Sitka. During our visit to the Fire Department we had a real emergency dispatch and saw how the Fire Department responded. Our next chapter will be the medical and legal aspects of being an emt.

Below are some pictures of our class as we take Universal Precautions for infectious diseases. The best way to prevent the spread of disease is through handwashing and making sure we wear personal protection to the degree of possible exposure
